Final Magazine Evaluation

How does your magazine compare to professional magazines? How does your magazine compare to that of your peers? What makes your magazine attractive to its consumers? What attention grabbing techniques did you use? What advertising techniques did you use?Do you think these techniques were effective? Explain why.

My magazine compare to a professional magazine because it has the basic set ups as an original magazine. A real magazine has a bar code, cover, advertisement, and two cover pages and our magazine include that also. The celebrities that we used make our magazine attractive to consumers. They will be attracted to how the celebrity is looking and also the color we choose also makes it attractive. My magazine shows that we put more time and effort into it other than our peers because theirs look like they didn’t take their time to finish it. I use the technique of putting things that will attract my consumer youth into the magazine and also added something’s that is considered "cool". I think that these techniques are affective because i grabbed an attention of some of my peers in my class.

Investigation

I will use my research to create a successful project by using the information I receive and putting them into my own words. I learned new things that teens are interested in and I also learned what are new things that I can add on to my project to make it better. I interpreted my peers in accessing my information because I received their opinion and took it into my own hands. It was helpful because it helped me see things from other peoples perspective and make me see different styles and trends people like. I am also going to use that information to gather them and make majority of what people like in my project.

Methods of persuasion

Appearance and sexuality- convincing people to buy things by making beautiful people wear them.

Similarity- makes people fell like they have something in common with someone wearing the product
Indirect Persuasion- having no direct relationship but using a transfer and diversion.
Testimonial- use both ordinary people and celebrity to make people believe that they can be trusted.
Informational advertisement- looks like a newspaper article but it is really an advertisement.

I think that appearance and sexuality is the most effective advertising ad because they fool teens into believing that they are going to be just like the person product they are using. For example if the producer is gay and the consumer is gay they might have a sexuality connection because the teen might think if they buy a product from a gay producer they are supporting being gay. I think that the informative advertising is the least effective because if we as teens see something that look like its educating us and we came from school tired and beat we are not going to want or even have time to listen or read anything that looks informative because we feel that we have already learned enough in school so they need to advertise something that is going to grab our attention and make us want to stop and listen or read.

Media Literacy

It is important for teens to be media literate because they need to know what the new technology is and the new brands. Teens usually get their fashion styles from artist and they fallow the "swag" of the that particular artist icon. We teens get our fashion styles from artist. We teens also create our own styles from the styles we get from artist and we try to make it ours so we can be able to make it our own style making us have our own "swag".

I would determine my project concept by how people describe it and if i get the message across to them without telling them. I would change the editing concept. I would also change the background of my poster. I am satisfied with my work. I communicate the concept of my design by putting many different designs because teens are confused and don't really know what they want. The design elements of my poster is to describe how teens have different themes and styles. Teen styles changes and that causes them to want them different things. I made my poster colorful with different themes and things.
